Ms. Cassandra Hilliard, age 54 of Pinehurst, NC and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, NC, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

Cassandra, a daughter of the late Clyde Edward Hilliard, Sr. and Clara Mae Wright Hilliard, was born September 26, 1957 in White Plains, NY.

She received her education through the school district of Elmsford, NY and was a 1977 Graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School.

In 1991, she relocated to Roanoke Rapids, NC and joined the Christian Fellowship of First Baptist Church (Hodgestown) shortly thereafter.

"Sandy's" favorite pastime was enjoying her soap operas and watching wrestling. She also enjoyed reading and studying the word of God.

Her bright, compassionate and faithful spirit will live forever in the hearts of her step-mother: Julia Hilliard of Pinehurst, NC; two brothers: Clyde Edward Hilliard, Jr. (Robbin) of Spring Valley, NY and Terence Lee Malloy (Allison) of Pelham, NY; one sister: Patricia Malloy of Roanoke Rapids, NC; five nephews: Ronnie, Hanif, Clyde, III, Jerry and Cody; two nieces: Irshaad and Kenee; five aunts: Ann Hilliard and Gennette H. Spencer (James) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Inez Wright of Tarrytown, NY, Carol Wright and Patricia Scott (Freddy) of White Plains, NY; four uncles: Randolph Hilliard of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Christopher Hilliard of Hartsdale, NY, Dallas Hilliard (Vivian) of Palm Bay, FL and Dr. Willie J. Hilliard (Sharon) of Tulsa, OK; two great-aunts: Norma Colbert of Alexandria, VA and Verdell Hilliard of White Plains, NY; a special cousin: Jimmy "Bobby" Davis of Silver Springs, MD; a host of other cousins, relatives and many friends.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 4 to 6 PM at Cofield Mortuary.

A Celebration Honoring the Life and Spirit of Cassandra Hilliard will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church (Hodgestown), Roanoke Rapids, NC with the Pastor, Rev. Michael E. Simmons offering words of comfort.

Cassandra will be laid to rest in the Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
