William Lee Harrison
(March 11, 1941 - June 14, 2012)
William, a twin son of the late James Ollie Harrison and Carrie Martin Harrison, was born March 11, 1941 in Halifax County, NC.
He received his education in Halifax County while attending Quankey Elementary School and John Armstrong Chaloner High School.
At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized and joined Quankey Missionary Baptist Church.
William was a horse groomer and trainer and this occupation for many years, allowed him to travel from state to state.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ernestine Watson and God blessed their union with three wonderful sons: Quenten, Dallas and Franky.
In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by siblings: James, Charles, Fredrick (his twin) and Gladys Marie.
Precious and warm memories of a life well lived will be treasured by his sons: Quenten Harrison (Clara) of Lawrence, MA, Dallas Harrison (Judy) of Cabin John, MD and Franky Harrison (Brenda) of Lawrence, MA and their mother, Ernestine Watson Harrison of Lawrence, MA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings: Elizabeth H. Thomas (Charles) and Reginald L. Harrison, Sr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Hilda H. Johnston (Marvin) of Rocky Mount, NC and Raymond M. Harrison (Ora) of Harvey, IL; in-laws: Michael Mullen, Joseph Dallas Jordan, Kenneth Jordan and Annette Harrison; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the Memorial Chapel of Cofield Mortuary, Weldon, NC with Rev. Elbert E. Lee delivering words of comfort.
Interment will follow in the London Baptist Church Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
The Cofield Family and Staff extends their heartfelt sympathy and continued support to the Harrison Family during and after this period of bereavement.
