Naomi Jones Jones

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, Mrs. Naomi J. Jones, age 88 of Roanoke Rapids, NC, took her eternal flight on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Naomi, a daughter of the late Jack Jones and Pearlie Hasty Jones, was born October 18, 1923 in Halifax County, Enfield, NC.

Her formative years were spent in Enfield, NC where she received her education at McDaniel-Rosenwald School, Enfield, NC.

At an early age she joined Daniels Chapel Baptist Church, Enfield, NC. After moving to the Weldon area, she joined the Christian Fellowship of Evangelistic Church of Deliverance where she served as Mother of the Church and a faithful and dedicated member.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert Jones and God blessed their union with six children.

Naomi was employed with Weldon City Schools as School Dietician and retired after many years of loyal and dedicated service.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her siblings: Pree Jones, Jack Jones, Calvin Jones, Irma Bryant, Melvina Cooper, Princine Daniel, Corrina Bradley and a granddaughter, Ariana Jones.

Those remaining to cherish lasting remembrances of her beautiful life are her devoted husband: Robert Jones of the home; two daughters: Linda G. Jones and Wilma Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC; four sons: King Jones (Dyana) of Hampton, VA, Robert Jones (KJ) of Dallas, TX, Michael Jones (Ruby) of Nashville, NC and Dwight Jones (Denise) of Portsmouth, VA; seven grandchildren: Brandon, Douglas, Ronnie, Charity, Daniel, Nicole and Chung; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her devoted brother: Roy Jones of Enfield, NC; three sisters-in-law: Rosa Jones and Mary Jones of Enfield, NC and Hattie Allen of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a special friend: Annie Mae Pierce of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her beloved caretaker and nephew: Pree Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a host of loving and devoted nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration Honoring the Life, Spirit and Legacy of Mother Naomi J. Jones will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the sanctuary of Evangelistic Church of Deliverance, Weldon, NC. The Pastor and Founder, Bishop William H. Cheek, Sr. will bring words of comfort.

Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest in the Daniels Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Enfield, NC.

The Cofield Family and Staff is honored to serve the Jones Family.
