Mr. Charles Luter, age 76 of Garysburg, NC, departed this life on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jackson, NC.

Charles, the youngest son of Billy and Pearlie Garner Luter, was born June 23, 1936 in Northampton County, NC.

He received his education from Brewer Crossroad School.

At an early age, he joined Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member until death.

During his lifetime, he was employed with Little and Jenkins and later Clary Lumber Company until he retired. He had a great love and passion for working on cars and trucks.

On September 29, 1962, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Bradley.

Those left to cherish fond memories are his wife: Mary B. Luter of the home; his daughter: Monica Luter of the home; two sons: Greg Luter (Brenda) of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Billy Luter of Kinston, NC; four grandsons: Tyrell, Jaray, Nico and BJ Luter; one sister: Annie Garris of Washington, DC; six sisters-in-law: Clara R. Luter of Hampton, VA, Clara Luter of Washington, DC, Dazelia Bradley and Lucille Robinson (Julian) of Garysburg, NC, Delois Wortham (George) of Washington, DC and Marcella Bradley of Laurel, MD; one brother-in-law: Johnnie Bradley of Garysburg, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Homegoing Services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. from the sanctuary of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Garysburg, NC with Rev. Ricky Rook bringing words of comfort.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The Cofield Family and Staff extends their heartfelt sympathy and continued support to the Luter Family during and after this period of bereavement.
