Caroline Buffaloe

Miss V. Caroline Buffaloe, age 89 and a resident of Highland Gardens, Pleasant Hill, NC, departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Caroline, a daughter of the late David and Emily Jones Buffaloe, was born September 3, 1922 in Northampton County, NC and was a longtime resident of Garysburg, NC.

She received her education and graduated from Northampton County Training School, Garysburg, NC and obtained further studies while attending Hampton University, Hampton, VA.

Caroline committed her life to the Lord at an early age and joined Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.

She began working early in life in various capacities, but her most treasured position was with the family of Wiley Long.

Caroline was a very loving and caring person, who had a very pleasing personality and always had a way of saying something to make you smile or laugh.

She is lovingly survived by her beloved sister: Ada B. Epps of Baltimore, MD; caring sisters-in-law: Virginia Buffaloe and Mildred "Bea" Buffaloe of Garysburg, NC; a special niece: Norma Ann Domney of Baltimore, MD; eight other devoted nieces and three wonderful nephews: Mary, Mary Francis, Retha, Lorraine, Roberta, Donna, Willa, Judy, James, Alonza and Lawrence; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, The Wiley Long Family, other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the sanctuary of Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Jackson, NC with the Pastor, Rev. Dr. Franklin D. Williams, Jr. bringing words of comfort.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A viewing will take place on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM at Cofield Mortuary.

The Cofield Family and Staff extends their heartfelt sympathy and continued support to the Buffaloe Family during and after this period of bereavement.
