John Arthur

Mr. John A. Claboine, age 67 of Garysburg, NC, departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Halifax Regional Medical Center, Roanoke Rapids, NC.

John, a son of the late Alice Claboine, was born August 23, 1944 in Northampton County, NC.

He received his formal education through the public schools of Northampton County.

Throughout his lifetime, he worked in the saw mill and construction industry.

He is lovingly survived by his wife: Rosa Hargrove Claboine of Garysburg, NC; step-children: Shelia Carter (Wade) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Mildred Squire Harris of Pleasant Hill, NC, Rufus Earl Squire and Gloria Miranda Squire of the home; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; his siblings: Bessie Britton and Undray Phillips of Durham, NC, Claboin Phillips (Kay Lynn), Shirley Lynch (William) and Cory Phillips (Sharon), all of Garysburg, NC, Calvin Phillips (Brenda) of Pleasant Hill, NC and Jo-Ellen House (Larry) of Bronx, NY; aunt and uncles: Bessie Vinson and Maxine Claboine of Garysburg, NC, Maude Jacque, Eddie Claboine (Pauline) and James Claboine (Shirley), all of Rochester, NY; in-laws: Odell Fowler (Cleveland) of Staten Island, NY, Lucille Hughes of Halifax, NC, Lillian Mitchell (Dennis) and Minister James Gary (Ruby) of Garysburg, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Homegoing Services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. from the Memorial Chapel of Cofield Mortuary, Weldon, NC with Pastor Edith Ramsey delivering the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the Phillips Family Cemetery, Garysburg, NC.

The Cofield Family and Staff extends their heartfelt sympathy and continued support to the Claboine Family during and after this period of bereavement.
